Terms of use

The rules,
such as they are.

What this site is

AlterCourseAustin is political advertising, paid for by Zo Must Go, a Texas general-purpose political action committee. It is not a news organization, and it does not pretend to be neutral. It argues a case about a candidate's public record. Read Who Paid For This for the disclosure, and Sources for where every claim comes from.

Facts and opinion

We draw a line between the two, and you should hold us to it.

Where we cannot prove something, we say so on the page rather than implying it.

Using this material

The text, layout and original graphics on this site are the work of Zo Must Go. You are welcome to quote, screenshot, link to and share any of it for commentary, reporting, teaching or civic organising. Quote accurately and in context; do not edit a quotation so that it says something we did not say.

You may not present this material as the work of anyone else, use it to imply that Zo Must Go endorses a person or product, or reuse it commercially without written permission.

Photographs

Photographs of Ryan Alter originate from the City of Austin. The photograph of Greg Abbott is by J Dimas and is used under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 license; that credit travels with the image. Images on this site carry halftone, duotone, contrast and other treatments. No image depicts anything that did not happen, and none has been altered to change what it shows. The rubber-stamp style illustration that briefly appeared on this site was an original drawing, not a photograph.

Links to other sites

We link extensively so you can check us. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, subject to their terms and privacy practices, not ours. A link is not an endorsement, and we do not control whether those pages stay up or change. Several outlets we cite block automated requests; those links open normally in a browser.

No warranty

This site is provided as is. We work hard to be accurate and we correct errors, but we do not warrant that every page is free of mistakes, that it will always be available, or that it is fit for any particular purpose. Nothing here is legal, financial or voting advice. For official election information, go to the Travis County Clerk or the Texas Secretary of State.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Send the specific claim and the correction to info@altercourseaustin.com. Documented errors get corrected and noted. This is not a courtesy, it is the whole basis on which we ask you to believe the rest.

Changes

If these terms change, this page changes with them, with a new date below.
